The 'Kids helping Cockies' project is engaging local schools to grow trees to be used for Red Tailed Black Cockatoo forage as paddock scatter trees. The species will consist of Buloke and Stringy Barks.
Kowree Farm Tree Group and Birdlife Australia are looking for suitable farm sites within the South West of Victoria to plant the trees.
The trees will be planted and guards erected around them to protect them from stock by the contractors/volunteers for the project.
